ASQ Hamilton Section presents Topic: Restoring the Triple P Model Through Quality Presenter: Willy Vandenbrande Date: Tuesday, April 30, 2024 Time: 12:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time (Toronto, GMT-4) Where: Zoom Meeting To register: Members planning to attend this meeting please follow the link to memberplanet. Tickets are free. https://lnkd.in/gajUavaz Synopsis: In 2018 John Elkington recalled his famous triple P model, for the same reason as car manufacturers recall cars: because they malfunction. He was disappointed with the result and saw how in the end it became a kind of giant greenwashing, where profit was maximized and planet got lip service. In this presentation we will show through data from the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG) reporting, that Elkington had and has a point; however, confirming that the situation is not good, does not make it better. The focus, therefore, will be on what quality can contribute to turn this around and to restore the balance and, as such, triple P thinking itself. When we think about improving, we know the value of our quality knowledge and we are well placed within the organization to apply this to sustainability. Examples will be given as to what quality professionals can do within their organizations as well as within society at large that will contribute to an improvement of Planet P results. This includes applying knowledge, communicating openly and committing to action. About the Speaker Willy Vandenbrande has been working in the field of Quality Management for over 35 years; first as a quality manager and later as a consultant. In 1995 he founded QS Consult, a European consulting agency that assists organizations in various aspects of Quality Management. Today he is focusing on spreading his thoughts on quality through publications and presentations. His main topics are sustainability, the future of quality and face-to-face service quality. Willy has delivered many presentations at international conferences (WCQI, EOQ, IAQ) and has written numerous articles on Quality Management. His thought-provoking speeches are very much liked by audiences all over the globe. Willy holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Total Quality Management. He holds a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Willy is an ASQ Fellow and an Academician of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ). Within IAQ he is the chair of the Quality in Planet Earth Concerns Think Tank. In 2019 he was awarded the ASQ E. Jack Lancaster Medal for outstanding leadership in promoting quality worldwide. #asq, #ASQHamilton, #TriplePModel
